In considering these matters, we reflect on the biblical principle found in Exodus 21, recognizing the invaluable nature of a mother’s life. Our compassionate approach strives to address the nuances of this delicate matter, respecting individual decisions and adhering to medical guidance in recognizing it as a health-related issue.

Evolution

Since the theory of evolution was presented by Charles Darwin, it has been a topic of ongoing debate. The Church of St. Enoch the Apostle embraces the notion of intelligent design, recognizing that God’s ways are often mysterious and beyond human comprehension. The theory of evolution, as outlined by Darwin, does not appear to contradict the sequence described in Genesis 1. In this biblical account, plants are created first, followed by marine life, life on land, and finally, the emergence of primates, culminating in the creation of humans. Our stance holds that the mysteries of creation and evolution can coexist harmoniously, encouraging an inclusive perspective that inspires reflection and awe for the divine artistry woven into the fabric of the natural world.

LGBT Community

Embracing the diversity of humanity as children of God, the Church of St. Enoch the Apostle recognizes the importance of respecting and affirming the inherent dignity of every individual. Habakkuk 2:4 inspires us to live by faith, fostering an environment of understanding and compassion. In our commitment to promoting love and unity, Leviticus 19:17–18 guides us to treat one another with kindness, acknowledging that we are all part of the same human family. Our church encourages an atmosphere of acceptance and inclusion, acknowledging the sacred worth of each person, irrespective of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Climate

In accordance with our foundational beliefs, we acknowledge the divine grant of authority over the Earth as stated in Genesis 1:28, signifying both a gift and a responsibility. As beneficiaries of this privilege, humanity is called to harness the Earth’s resources with wisdom and restraint. Our church places special emphasis on maintaining the equilibrium of nature, safeguarding the welfare of all inhabitants. Deuteronomy 20:19 reinforces our commitment, urging a mindful approach that respects the stability of ecosystems. As stewards of the Earth, we advocate responsible resource utilization, refraining from causing undue harm to the fauna and flora.
